Envisioned as a satellite event in Luxembourg to the Biennale, and part of Luxembourg Urban Garden, Listening Along the Edge proposes to continue the explorations into the sonic as a one-day festival and sound installation. Located in the former fort of Obergrünewald, in the Parc des Trois Glands of Kirchberg, the event invites to move our attention towards giving voices to the built and natural environments around us, thus making audible the invisible.

Taking shape as a specific sound installation in dialogue with the fort, the Grünewald forest and the contemporary architecture of the city, Ecotonalities: No Other Home Than the In-Between by Ludwig Berger is the central element of the festival. Commissioned for the Luxembourg Pavilion in Venice, the sound piece returns to its recorded territory, attuning listeners closely to frictions and co-existences within the environment. An adaptive and inviting scenography houses a series of Interludes that punctuate the installation with performative and reflexive interventions together with local and international actors across various disciplines.

Focusing on multi-perspective listening, each activation operates a different dialogue between the installation, the performers, the listeners and their surroundings.

With contributions by Seijiro Murayama, Mélia Roger, Sam Erpelding, Ariane König and Charles Rouleau.
